Na última quinta-feira à tarde (27), a reitora da Universidade de Brasília (UnB), Márcia Abrahão, assinou um protocolo de intenções com o gigante chinês de biotecnologia Xamano Biotech. O acordo regula a forma e as condições pelas quais a Universidade e a empresa propõem desenvolver um Centro Integrado de Tecnologia e Inovação (CITI), bem como regras orientadoras para uma possível instalação da Xamano no Parque Científico e Tecnológico (PCTec) da UnB.
A Xamano ocupará uma área de 454 m² no edifício da Fundação de Empreendimentos Científicos e Tecnológicos (Finatec) no campus Darcy Ribeiro. A instalação da empresa na UnB possibilita expandir a relação empresa-universidade, visando fortalecer as estruturas de pesquisa e inovação na universidade.

O diretor do PCTec, Carlos Alberto Gurgel, enfatizou a importância de uma empresa como a Xamano ocupar esse espaço para inovação na UnB. “Um dos aspectos do PCTec é puramente tecnológico. Isso significa que é muito importante para nós atrair grandes grupos que possam usar toda a estrutura de pesquisa da universidade para impulsionar sua inovação. Aqui, a Xamano terá acesso a capital intelectual que não tem igual no país.”
Atualmente, um dos prédios da Finatec na UnB é utilizado para criar o CITI e para administrar empresas ligadas ao PCTec. A Xamano é uma das empresas que pretende ocupar o edifício.
O CEO da Finatec, Augusto Brasil, enfatizou que o papel fundamental da instituição é ser um braço que viabiliza as ações da UnB com seu PCTec. “É por isso que alocamos um prédio inteiro para esse fim. Queremos tornar a universidade cada vez melhor, impulsionando-a com pesquisa, inovação e tecnologia.”
A reitora Márcia Abrahão disse que o acordo entre as instituições é um passo importante na consolidação do Parque Científico e Tecnológico. “Desde que assumimos em 2016, temos fortalecido o PCTec, começando com sua ligação direta com a reitoria. Hoje, assinamos um acordo que visa dar à Xamano todas as condições e apoio para realizar suas atividades de pesquisa e inovação, incluindo a possibilidade de trabalhar com nosso Centro de Biotecnologia Molecular (C-Biotech), que está em construção, com o Hospital Universitário, a Fiocruz e a Finatec. Tenho certeza de que esta parceria será proveitosa para o Brasil e a China.”
O CEO da Xamano Internacional, Wang Wei, também considerou a parceria um passo significativo para ambos os países. “Nosso objetivo é avançar na inovação tecnológica na América Latina, especialmente na área da saúde e medicamentos. Estou grato pela oportunidade de me juntar à UnB e por todo o apoio oferecido pela Finatec.”
